Sol Plaatje University (SPU) is maintaining up for the 2026-2027 academic year, and online registration is now open for students. Whether you are continuing your studies or preparing for the next phase of your academic career, completing your SPU registration on time is significant to secure your place. The registration process is fully online, ensuring a smart and convenient experience for students.
Returning students must register through the SPU ITS Student iEnabler System, which allows them to complete the process from their own devices. To access the system, students need a valid student number, an email address, and a unique five-digit PIN. The system automatically sends this PIN to the student’s registered email. If a student forgets their PIN, they can easily retrieve it by selecting the “Forgot PIN” option, which will resend the details to their email.
Logging in is simple because students use their student number as the username and their five-digit PIN as the password. With this online system, SPU ensures that students can register quickly and efficiently without the need for in-person visits.

SPU Registration Date For 2026-2027
Student registration for the 2026 academic year at SPU will take place on the following dates:
First-Year Students:
- Online or on-campus registration will be open from 3 February to 14 February 2026.
First-Year Residence Students:
- Students with a confirmed residence offer can arrive and complete their residence registration on 31 January and 1 February 2026.
Orientation for First-Year Students:
- The Orientation Programme will run concurrently with the registration period from 3 February to 14 February 2026.
- This two-week program will conclude with the Vice-Chancellor’s Official Welcome Ceremony on 15 February 2025, where Prof. Andrew Crouch, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, will formally welcome all first-year students into the university community.
Returning Students:
- Online registration for returning students, which must be completed using their own devices, will be available from 20 January to 14 February 2026.

SPU Registration Requirements For 2026-2027
Below are the requirements needed to register for SPU for the academic year 2026-2027:
General Requirements for All Students:
- A valid student number is issued upon admission.
- A certified copy of the South African ID (for local students) or a valid passport (for international students).
- Proof of final acceptance into a program at SPU.
- Payment of the registration fee or proof of funding from bursaries, NSFAS, or other sponsors.
- Up-to-date contact details (email address and phone number).
- A valid five-digit PIN for online registration is sent to the student’s registered email.
First-Year Student Registration Requirements:
- A certified copy of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification.
